As mentioned earlier, the black-and-white always-on mode can be activated by using the old Focus mode setting commonly known as Dim Lock Screen.

That setting can completely darken iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max when in mode always-on. How to activate the mode? Follow the steps below:

Enter the menu Settings > Focus > Options > Enable Dim Lock Screen. Dim Lock Screen will be activated when you have activated focus mode.

This method will cause the device’s lock screen to change to a black-and-white display, which is when the iPhone 14 Pro goes into always-on display mode.

Just so you know, another report shows that demand for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max is increasing, so Apple is asking Foxconn to ramp up production.
