This is the reason why the design of the Galaxy A54 and A34 is similar to the Galaxy S23
The Samsung Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34 have a design language that looks identical to the Samsung Galaxy S23 Series, to be precise the standard S23 and S23 Plus. Apparently, there’s a reason why Samsung adopted the same design language.
The duo Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34 have just been released for the Indonesian market today, Thursday (16/3/2023). The two latest Samsung mobile phones present improved performance, cameras and other sectors compared to their predecessors.
Apart from the specifications, what is interesting about these two smartphones is the design which is similar to the standard Galaxy S23 and S23 Plus, which do not have a camera island on the back.

MX Product Marketing Senior Manager SEIN Ilham Indrawan revealed that the reason for implementing the same design is a form of Samsung’s effort to present the Galaxy identity, or as the identity of the Samsung Galaxy Series in 2023.
“The Galaxy A34 5G and A54 5G have more design language sleek and the same as the standard S23 and S23 Plus. This is to present the Galaxy identity which aims to make the Galaxy series have an identity in 2023,” said Ilham when holding the Hands-on Experience event ‘The New Galaxy A54 5G in Jakarta (16/3/2023).
Furthermore, he also revealed that although the design language is the same, there are some differences between the mid-range series and the flagship series made by Samsung.
“Although, having the same design language the mid-range series has differences from the flagship series. For example, the material on the Galaxy A34 uses polycarbonate, while the Galaxy A54 has a back made of glass with the same Gorilla Glass 5 protection as the screen protection.
The Galaxy A54 has a 6.4-inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen, refresh rate 120 Hz and Vision Booster support. The body already has IP67 certification. The device is powered by Exynos 1380 which is configured with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal memory.
For the camera using configuration triple camera which consists of a 50 MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture with OIS, a 12 MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 5 MP f/2.4 macro camera. On the front there is a 32 MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy A34 Super AMOLED is larger, which is 6.6 inches. The screen resolution is 1080p, with refresh rate 120Hz. This smartphone also has IP67 certification. For the kitchen runway, the device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 6nm, with the same composition of RAM, memory and battery as the Galaxy A54 5G.
Regarding the camera, the Galaxy A34 5G uses a 48 MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, an 8 MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 5 MP f/2.4 macro camera. The front camera has a 13 MP sensor. [FY/HBS]
