Entering Indonesia, Galaxy Watch5 Targets Users Who Are Diligent in Sports

In addition to launching its newest foldable smartphone, Samsung Electronics Indonesia also introduces mobile devices wearable the latest, Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro in Indonesia.

According to the Product Marketing Manager of Samsung Mobile, Samsung Electronics Indonesia Annisa Nurul Maulina, the Galaxy Watch5 Series consists of the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro. These two Samsung smartwatches are here to target consumers who are sporty or like to do various sports activities.

“So the Watch5 Series targets users who like sports and outdoor activities because of its long-lasting battery and strong body,” Annisa said through the launch event on Thursday (1/9/2022).

These two Galaxy Watch5 are also designed to support the lifestyle of users, especially those who want to implement a healthy lifestyle in their daily activities.

“The thing that makes the Galaxy Watch5 attractive is that it can provide a maximum experience for those who want to adopt a healthy lifestyle,” said Annisa.

The Galaxy Watch5 has a choice of 40mm and 44mm screen diameters. For a screen diameter of 40 mm, it has overall dimensions of 39.3 x 40.4 x 9.8 mm and weighs 28.7 grams. As for the 44mm watch, those measurements are 43.3 x 44.4 x 9.8mm and 33.5g.

The smartwatch is powered by the Exynos W920 chipset which is also used in the Galaxy Watch4 series. The embedded memory configuration is 1.5 GB RAM and 16 GB storage memory. In addition, the OS used is a new model OS, namely One UI Watch 4.5.

On the battery front, the 40mm Watch5 has a 284mAh battery and 410mAh for the 44mm version. With a larger battery capacity than the previous series, the battery life is also strong and charging is fast.

Samsung claims that users can get 8 hours of battery life in just 8 minutes. As for charging the battery for 30 minutes, the battery can be charged up to 45%.

The Samsung Watch5 is also rich in apps and features. For example, there are applications for Google Maps, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, Spotify, SoundCloud, Deezer and Google Assistant.

While the available features consist of a barometer, temperature sensor, accelerometer, gyro and light sensor. There is also health tracking, optical heart rate tracking, and a Bioelectrical Impedance (BIA) sensor.

Please note that BIA analysis sensors allow users to set targets for weight loss, body fat percentage and even body muscle.

Not to forget there is a sleep tracking feature, to analyze the user’s sleep behavior. Connectivity installed is Bluetooth 5.2, Dual-band Wi-Fi 5 a/b/g/n, and NFC.

Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Pro

Watch5 Pro only has one variant, namely the 45 mm variant with an actual size of 45.4 x 45.4 x 10.5 mm and a weight of 46.5 grams. Then the chipset used is exactly the same as the Galaxy Watch5, namely Exynos W920, 1.5 GB RAM and 16 GB memory and UI Watch 4.5.

On the other hand, the battery capacity tends to be larger, where the 590 mAh battery is long lasting and can charge quickly. Regarding features, all the features on the standard Watch5 are embedded in the Pro version.

However, there is a GPX file feature on this watch. Through this feature, users can record route data and share it with friends who might want to do the same hike.

Next there is the Track Back feature that will guide the user to the starting point, so as not to get lost.

The price of the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 for the 40mm model is IDR 3,499.00 and IDR 3,999,000 for the 44 mm model. The watch comes in Graphite, Silver and Pink Gold colors for 40 mm, as well as Graphite, Silver and Sapphire for 44 mm.

Then for the Watch5 Pro, the price is Rp. 6,499,000. There are 2 color choices, namely Black Titanium and Gray Titanium.

Samsung plans to hold a Consumer Launch for this product along with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Flip4 in several cities. Among them are Jakarta, Bogor, Surabaya, Bandung, Denpasar, Medan, Makassar and Manado. [NM/HBS]
