Not All iPhone Models Get iOS 16 Battery Percentage Feature
One of the new features coming in iOS 16 for iPhone is the display of the battery percentage indicator in the status bar. But apparently, not all iPhone users can take advantage of this feature.
This battery percentage indicator display feature first appeared in iOS 16 beta. This feature lets you see the battery charge status without swiping down.
Previously, iPhone users had to swipe down on Control Center on an iPhone that had a TrueDepth camera and a screen notch, to see the charging status.

In iOS 16, the battery percentage display is located to the right of the TrueDepth camera system, which is housed within the screen notch. Now users can view the charging indicator conveniently without swiping down the Control Center.
However, although the latest operating system iOS 16 is available for many iPhone models (starting from iPhone 8 and above), it turns out that not all models will get the new feature.
Apple has provided information in the support document that not all iPhone models will support the new feature. In its support document, Apple states that this feature is not available on the iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 13 mini.
Unfortunately, Apple did not provide any information about the reason why the feature was not made available to some of these iPhone models. In fact, the battery percentage display in iOS 16 is a welcome feature for users, as it makes it easier for them.
But just so you know, the way the iPhone displays the battery percentage indicator bar in iOS 16 is quite complicated, because the indicator is inside the battery icon, instead of next to it.

The icon itself remains fully charged giving the user the impression that the battery has not been drained until the battery charge drops to 20 percent.
After that, the icon turns red, remaining partially filled. It is very different from smartphone Android displays battery status. [SN/HBS]
