Dimensity 9200 Wins in GFXBench Test, Beats Apple A16 Bionic

The Dimensity 9200 chipset again recorded impressive test results on GFXBench. The MediaTek chipset even managed to beat the Apple A16 Bionic chip.

Previously, the Dimensity 9200 chipset has also featured scores benchmark AnTuTu start with impressive graphics performance improvements. That slick record is back in early tests on GFXBench.

The Dimensity 9200 has improved graphics performance thanks to the switch to the new ARM Immortalis-G715. Chip it became the first GPU capable of tracking rays.

This is evident in the initial test results on GFXBench which show chip which will be launched soon it looks impressive as it recorded the highest score, above all current chipsets.

In fact, like The telephone quote from GSM ArenaTuesday (1/11/2022), chipset it manages to beat the Apple A16 Bionic, though cross-platform comparisons aren’t always accurate.

What devices will use the platform is also not known. However, perhaps, the device is running firmware which is still under development.

Digital Chat Station reports, ES 3.1 results go from 176fps to 228fps with the latest software iteration. It looks very promising.

However, please note that this version of GFXBench does not use ray tracing. What’s more, this test is an old version of OpenGL ES.

The iPhone 14 Pro duo with the A16 peaked at around 190fps in Manhattan 3.1 (outside the 1080p display) and 243fps in Manhattan 3.0 (outside the 1080p display).

Handset The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (non-plus) tends to get 167fps and 187fps, respectively. The majority of phones today are tested against the latest benchmarks.

The leak also details about the hardware in the dDimensity 9200. The GPU is the Immortalis-G715 MC11, up from the Mali-G710 MC10 rather than the Dimensity 9000.

As for the CPU (which will feature Cortex-X3), the three clusters will have clock at 3.05GHz, 2.85GHz, and 2.00GHz although not necessarily the last frequency.

Whatever the performance, the new SoC 9200 will have no effect on the Apple ecosystem. But, chip fast at the right price keeps the Android ecosystem in balance.

MediaTek has sent out invitations for the upcoming November 8, 2022 event, which promises to unveil its next-generation flagship platform. [SN/HBS]
