Thanks to the Reno7 Series, Oppo is Successful in Dominating the Indonesian HP Market

IDC released a report on the HP market in Indonesia for the second quarter (Q2) of 2022. As a result, Oppo has succeeded in leading the HP market in Indonesia thanks to the shipment of Oppo products, specifically the Reno7 Series.

Quoted The telephone from the official IDC website on Sunday (9/25/2022), shipments of the HP market in Indonesia in Q2 2022 amounted to 9.5 million units. This yield tends to decrease by 10% compared to Q2 2021, but grows 6.9% compared to Q1 2022.

According to Associate Market Analyst IDC Indonesia, Vanessa Aurelia caused the decline in the smartphone market in Indonesia because it increased the price of necessities so that people began to reduce their activities to buy new smartphones.

“Consumer spending is also shifting to other areas such as food and transportation as people return to normal activities. The increase in the price of goods also adds to the pressure on disposable incomeforcing people to prioritize spending on primary needs,” said Vanessa.

However, in the midst of a declining market, Oppo managed to lead the shipment of HP in Indonesia. Thanks to the sales of mid-range HP or mid-range Like the good A96 and Reno7 Series, Oppo managed to dominate the Indonesian HP market by shipping 2 million units of HP with a market share of 20.6%.

“Oppo rose back to the first position in Q2 2022. HP’s middle class segment accounted for 46.9%. The mid-range segment is mainly supported by OPPO’s A96 and Reno7 models. Oppo’s 5G share has increased significantly with the Reno7 model,” Vanessa continued.

Next is Samsung. South Korean vendors had to settle for second place with 1.9 million units shipped and a market share of 20.2%. Samsung was able to come in second thanks to the Galaxy M Series and Galaxy A Series, which had good sales in the second quarter of this year.

Third is Vivo, with 1.7 million HP shipments and a 17.8% market share. Vivo is considered successful in being in third position thanks to sales of the Y15s, Y21, Vivo Y01 to Vivo T1 5G Series models.

“Vivo’s 5G shipments have increased significantly, thanks to the newly released T1 5G and T1 Pro 5G,” he said.

The fourth position is Xiaomi which managed to send 1.5 million units with a market share of 15.6%. Meanwhile, Realme is in fifth position with 1.2 million units shipped and 12.1% market share.

Unfortunately, the Indonesian HP market is expected to continue to slow in the second half of 2022. The reason is due to macroeconomic factors such as inflation, exchange rate movements, rising interest rates, and rising fuel prices.
