Microsoft 365 Copilot Uses AI to Automate Daily Jobs

Microsoft at the Future of Work event announced the use of AI technology in Microsoft 365 Copilot to automate daily work in various applications.

With AI power, Microsoft 365 Copilot is able to create content in various Office applications with just a request via text. Users can create presentations in PowerPoint based on Word documents.

Not only that, users can even make presentations according to animation or themes on all user slides, according to a report from Engadget.

Other applications also have similar functions. Word can create a proposal based on spreadsheet data, or change the overall tone of a report. Excel can break down data or predict the effect of changing variables.

For Outlook, being able to summarize emails or drafts of a user’s reply, whereas Teams can sum up a meeting or even weigh the pros and cons when discussing a topic.

The new Business Chat tool brings information from a variety of applications to handle project progress, customer incidents and planning.

This new technology from Microsoft 367 that uses AI to automate uses the same OpenAI GPT-4 model used in Bing enhanced search for everyone.

This technology is more factual, has higher performance, and is less likely to go outside the accepted limits than its predecessor, namely GPT-3.5 which is used in ChatGPT.

Microsoft has tested the 365 Copilot on 20 of its business customers. The company plans to expand access to this technology in the coming months, and will share details of the administration controls for this technology to help with implementation. Pricing and other details will follow in the coming months.

This use of AI comes just days after Google announced it would be bringing generative AI to Gmail and Workspace apps, such as Docs and Slides, which will allow users to organize and revise content to automatically create images and videos for presentations.
