Meta Creates a Decentralized Twitter Competitor Application
Meta is reportedly working on a Twitter competitor application. The application development process is still in its early stages, but Meta provides a sneak peek at the description of the application he made.
According to information from MoneyControl and Platformer, the name of the application in question is unknown, but Meta said that the application development project that competes with Twitter has project code P92.
As a competitor to Twitter, the app codenamed P92 will allow users to post text-based updates, and it will support decentralized social networking protocols. Much like the ActivityPub feature, which is on Mastodon.
“We are exploring a stand-alone decentralized social network for sharing text updates. We believe there is an opportunity for a separate space where creators and community leaders can share timely updates about their interests,” wrote Meta.

However, Meta claims that even though you can log in using an Instagram account, the application with code P92 will not share data with Instagram.
The purpose of a decentralized application means that users can set up their own server and set their own rules for content moderation.
The app will allow users to broadcast their posts to people on other servers, but it remains to be seen whether they will be able to follow one another as well.
MoneyControl said it wasn’t clear whether the company had already started building the app, or was still in the planning stages of development. So let’s just wait for official information from Meta regarding the application.
Previously, Meta also introduced research tools to build chatbots based on artificial intelligence. Reportedly, Meta wants to create an AI chatbot that will compete with Google’s Bard and Microsoft’s ChatGPT.
