MediaTek Confirms to Launch Dimensity 9200 on November 8, 2022

MediaTek confirmed that it will announce its newest chip on November 8, 2022. The latest chip that the Chinese company will launch is the MediaTek Dimensity 9200.

MediaTek says it will focus on offering high-end performance and extremely low power consumption on this new chipset. They also hope to offer users the best gaming experience on smartphones.

As per previous reports, the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9200 will be based on a 4nm fabrication process by TSMC and the chip will likely use the same Cortex-A710 and Cortex-A510 cores as before.

This chipset prototype uses a triple-cluster CPU architecture with specifications of 1 x ARM Cortex-X3 prime cores with a clockspeed of 3.05GHz along with 2.85GHz performance and 2.0GHz efficient cores.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9200 will also use ARM’s latest Immortalis-G715, the most powerful GPU. In addition to being the first in hardware support for ray tracing.

Recently there was a report regarding the AnTuTu benchmark of the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 which has been leaked. The report reveals that the chip managed to score 1,266,102, surpassing the performance of all current generation smartphones on the AnTuTu leaderboard and delivering a 26% improvement over its predecessor.

Although the AnTuTu test on the CPU did not show a big improvement, the GPU sector showed a pretty big improvement. In comparison, the GPU scores at 550K, while its predecessor 9000+ chip can only score around 430K on the Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate.

Another test of the chip that has been leaked is the GPU benchmark, the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 managed to score up to 328 fps in the GFX 1080p Manhattan 3.0 off screen test and scored 228 fps in the Manhattan 3.1 off screen test.

In comparison, the Apple A16 Bionic only managed to score 280 fps and 200 fps respectively on this same test. In addition, the chipset even managed to outperform the Dimensity 9000+, which scored 220 fps and 160 fps, respectively, and the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 which scored 281 fps and 188 fps, respectively.
