Cheap 1 Million Laptop Recommendations in 2023

Advertisment

It will be very difficult to find a Rp. 1 million laptop on the offline and online market. The reason is, generally laptops are priced in the IDR 2 million price class. The big screen and body factor clearly makes a laptop sell at least Rp. 2 million, even then the price is close to Rp. 2 million and above.

Indeed, there are several laptops that are sold at Rp. 1 million. However, usually this type of laptop is a used laptop. It’s rare to find a new IDR 1 million laptop.

At the time this article was written, there were two new laptops priced at IDR 1 million. I also discussed a little about used laptops after the laptop recommendation. Here’s the discussion.

New 1 Million Laptop (Chromebook)

the new laptop that sells at IDR 1 million is the Chromebook. Chromebook itself is a laptop device with Chrome OS, an operating system made by Google. Inside there is a Chrome browser that can be maximized for various uses. Moreover, Chrome OS offers something interesting, support for installing Android applications.

Therefore, if you want to buy this laptop, make sure first if you don’t depend on applications that only exist in Windows. For other applications, actually there can be alternatives because Chromebooks already support Android applications. The presence of Google PlayStore is an interesting option because many Android applications can run on Chromebooks.

The following are recommendations for new 1 million Chromebook laptops.

1. Samsung Chromebook 4

Samsung Chromebook 4

11.6″ HD LED Display (1366 x 768), Anti-Reflective

Intel® Celeron® Processor N4020 (1.10 Ghz up to 2.70 Ghz 4 MB L2 Cache)

4 GB LPDDR4 Memory (On BD 4 GB)

32GB eMMC Internal/160GB (eMMC + 128GB SD CARD)

802.11 ac wave2 2X2 / Bluetooth

1 USB-C® 1 USB3.0 MicroSD Multi-media Card Reader 1 Headphone out/Mic-in Combo

It’s hard to find a cheap laptop, let alone one with a cool design. However, the existence of the Samsung Chromebook 4 makes that dream come true. Imagine, with a price tag of Rp. 1.8 million, the Samsung Chromebook 4 presents a premium laptop design that is rarely even found in laptops of 4 to 6 million.

By offering Chrome OS, Samsung Chromebook 4 can be optimal for both study and work needs. Of course, this work needs to be limited to certain circles. This is because the Samsung Chromebook 4 runs Chrome OS, which is optimal for those who can work with various services or applications that can be accessed by a browser.

Of course, if there are other applications that are alternatives, the presence of Google PlayStore is a distinct advantage.

I myself have been using Samsung Chromebook 4 for months. It feels like having a small laptop that stays fast even though you open more than a dozen browser tabs simultaneously.

I’m also quite confident about carrying the Samsung Chromebook 4 because of its classy design. Moreover, this Samsung Chromebook 4 has good Build Quality thanks to MILD-STD-810 support. The keyboard on the Samsung Chromebook 4 is also quite comfortable. And what I like, the Samsung Chromebook 4 battery is quite durable.

Unfortunately, I have to compromise with the lack of ports on this device. The Samsung Chromebook 4 only offers 1 USB A 3.0 port and 1 USB Type-C port which can be used for a charger and display port.

2. HP Chromebook 11

HP 11 CHROMEBOOK_

11.6″ diagonal, HD (1366 x 768), anti-glare, 220 nits, 45% NTSC

4 GB LPDDR4-3733 MHz RAM (onboard)

32GB eMMC Internal/160GB (eMMC + 128GB SD CARD)

2 USB 3.1 Type-C® Gen 1 (Power delivery, data transfer, DisplayPort™); 2 USB 3.1 Gen 1; 1 Stereo headphone/microphone combo jack

The HP Chromebook 11 is another $1 million laptop to choose from. HP Chromebook 11 and Samsung Chromebook 4 were initially sold at IDR 2 million. However, in 2023, the two devices will experience a price reduction to just Rp. 1 million specifically for the new version. The selling price ranges from IDR 1.8 million.

This price similarity is because in terms of specifications, the HP Chromebook 11 is similar to the Samsung Chromebook 4. Everything hardware in it exactly the same. Both also have the same performance and similar battery life. Even if there is a difference in performance, it is only slightly.

Both, HP Chromebook 11 and Samsung Chromebook 4, both of them already have hardiness certification. In fact, for the HP Chromebook 11, HP claims that the HP Chromebook 11 can withstand a fall from a height of 122 cm. Besides that, keyboard The HP Chromebook 11 laptop has been prepared to stay strong even if it is spilled with drops of drinking water (spill resistant).

The HP Chromebook 11 is a sort of answer for those who need a cheap Chromebook concept laptop that has lots of ports. This HP Chromebook 11 has 2 USB A 3.0 ports and 2 USB Type-C ports. This can be an advantage in itself, although of course you have to compromise in terms of design.

If the HP Chromebook 11 excels in the number of ports, then the Samsung Chromebook 4 excels in design. The design of the HP Chromebook 11 tends to be ordinary and looks like a cheap laptop. But for those who don’t think about design, of course this isn’t too much of a problem.

Used 1 Million Laptops (Windows)

If you don’t want to use a Chromebook, and need a Windows laptop, then the option should be to add funds to buy a new one. If the funds are only in the range of Rp. 1 million, the option of buying a Windows laptop can indeed be chosen.

However, personally, buying a used Windows laptop should be calculated. Used products always have drawbacks that need to be compromised.

If indeed the funds cannot increase and you still buy a Windows laptop, then there is no problem buying a used laptop or second hand laptop. It’s just that of course it’s ready with its own risk.

THINKPAD X220 CORE i5 GEN2

My advice, if you really want to buy a used laptop at Rp. 1 million, you should choose a Lenovo ThinkPad product. If you look at the shop online, there are many ThinkPad series that use 2nd Generation Intel processors that are sold at Rp. 1.7 to Rp. 2 million.
