Android 13 (Go Edition) Released, Brings Many New Features!
Following the release of Android 13 last August, Google is now back with Android 13 (Go Edition). Like its predecessors, the Go edition is aimed at low-end smartphones.
The concept of the Android Go edition itself actually started five years ago. There are currently over 250 million monthly active devices, with low-end SoCs and limited RAM and storage capacity, running some form of Android Go.
Android 13 (Go Edition) focuses on reliability, usability and customization. Google Play System Updates are available for Go devices starting with this release, allowing the phone to receive critical software updates beyond the main Android release.

The Google Discover feed, which you can usually find on Android to the left of the far left of the home screen, is now debuting on Go edition devices. This feature is intended to help users browse a curated list of news and other content according to user habits.
On top of that, there’s also the Material You design language, which has so far been limited to non-Go editions of Android devices but can now be found on more affordable devices.
With this feature, users can customize the theme of the phone’s color scheme based on the wallpaper. However this is not automatic. When the user sets wallpaperthey get four color schemes to choose from for the system.
Not only that, some of the main features introduced in the non-Go version also made their way into the Go edition, such as notification permissions and app language preferences. Google says new devices running Android 13 Go Edition will arrive in 2023.
Previously, the company from China was rumored to be releasing a smartphone with Android Go, namely the Redmi A1.
This smartphone will have specifications with a 6.52-inch IPS screen, and is powered by the Helio G22 chipset. There are two memory variants to choose from, namely those that carry 2 GB of RAM with 32 GB of internal storage and 3 GB of RAM with 32 GB of internal storage. [FY/IF]
