The iPhone 14’s satellite connectivity feature is likely to take effect in countries other than Canada and the United States in November 2022, according to a new report.
Apple announced at the “Far Out” event that when the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max debuted, the feature was free for the first two years.

If you’re a hiker lost in the woods or have an injury that makes you unable to move, iPhone 14 can be used to send SOS messages via satellite.
Thanks to that feature, you will get help. Because, the satellite is a moving target with bandwidth low and it takes a few minutes for the message to be delivered.
To send an SOS message, you must be outdoors with a clear sky. Since satellites move quickly in space, iPhone 14 will have you covered.
iPhone 14 will help you where to point to maintain a connection and avoid obstacles like mountains and dense leaves in the middle of a forest.
Apple says that under ideal conditions, messages are delivered in less than 15 seconds. Under light foliage, it takes more than a minute.
Once connected, iPhone 14 will automatically send your answer, location, medical record (if set), and battery percentage to the dispatcher.
Tarun Pathak from Counterpoint Research explained that the new feature would be a good thing and very useful to have from a user’s point of view.
